Mobility as a Service – More than Public Transit

The discussion centers on the idea of creating a corridor that facilitates transit, whether public or private or whether powered by electricity or humans. Further, with Ford as an example, auto companies are increasingly seeing themselves as mobility providers, instead of car makers. This is why we are seeing developments, such as Ford’s move into bike-sharing and their recent purchase of Chariot; a private service that is similar to “dial-a-ride”, except that it uses apps to direct the routes of its small shuttle buses.
